SEC Financial Data Infrastructure
Building a traceable data foundation for public SEC 10-K and 10-Q filings, intended to support downstream retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and GraphRAG research.
View on GitHubMy role
I own database and integration work within a seven-person engineering team. My responsibilities include schema evolution, shared data imports, and coordinating interfaces between the team's processing modules.
Foundation in place
The public repository includes a PostgreSQL schema, versioned storage helpers, source metadata and citation views, and a metadata CLI. The shared database foundation is deployed on AWS RDS.
Current sample and next steps
A partial, manually prepared Microsoft 10-Q sample contains 24 financial facts, 3 statement excerpts, 24 table-to-fact links, and 1 report excerpt with 2 sections and 6 text chunks. It gives the team concrete records to query and trace to public sources.
Full-filing processing, interface agreement, and teammate network onboarding remain in progress. The sample is not a completed automated pipeline or RAG product.
